Coaching and Co Coaching and Team SUpport

All parents are encouraged to ask what they can do to help.   Just ask the coaches - "Is there anything I can do to help".

Everyone is busy with lots of commitments and so everyone needs to priorities helping out to make a better community and cricket experience for your kids.

If you would like to coach or share coaching or support your coach at training, just offer and ask. And ask every week "Anything you need a hand with?"

That's all we ask.

Player Information for Start of Season

Copy of Email taken from an email September 2019 from coaches to under 11s players...

We would like to welcome you all, both new and returning players and families to the Coolbinia West Perth Junior Cricket Club Under 11’s team.

For those that have recently registered and joined the Club, I am Josh’s dad, and along with Shane Whittaker (Nicholas’ dad) we helped in coaching the boys last year, and are planning to coach again this year.

Currently, we have around 25 boys registered to play this year, so we will be fielding three teams.

Similar to last previous year, we are aiming to all train as a group and then have separate match day teams. To help the boys achieve the best that they can be, we would appreciate as many parents as we can to help out during the training when you can, so that we have smaller groups doing different training drills during the sessions. Please note, in selecting the teams we will do our best to accommodate individual request to be with friends, however we are unable to provide any guarantees with this.

Training is scheduled for each Wednesday afternoon from 4.30pm, at Coolbinia Oval number 1 (where ours and the Coolbinia Football Club’s clubrooms are, which are off Bradford Street), with the first training session scheduled for Wednesday, September 25 2019. We acknowledge that the first training is a week before school holidays, so understand that some of the boys will not be available for training this week.

Shane and I plan to arrive at around 4pm on the first training day so that we can welcome the new players and also be available to answer any questions you may have.

The kids’ first game is currently scheduled for the weekend of the 19/20 of October.

WHAT TO WEAR

For match days, the boys will need to wear white shirts and white long trousers, and preferably mostly white shoes, and the Association has a no hat/ no play policy, so a hat is also required. So the kids play as a team, we recommend that the club’s shirt and hats are worn and these can be purchased online at https://www.coolbinia.cricket/. It would be appreciated if orders can be completed as soon as possible, as we have been advised that the supplier has requested orders be submitted early next week to ensure items are ready for the start of the season.  Plain white trousers can be bought at numerous outlets including Kmart, Rebel and Jim Kidds etc.

GEAR

Whist the club provides some kit for each team, that includes all the equipment required to play on game day, the boys are more than welcomed to bring and use their own gear, but please ensure they have their name on each item. We also highly recommend that each player buys their own “box” (official term- abdominal guard).

On the administrative side, at the first training session I will bring down a medical questionnaire for each boy that needs to be completed before the first game.

As we will be fielding three teams this year, we will need a couple of more volunteers to help coach/manage the kids, especially for match days, so can you please let Shane or I know if you can assist with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I do not wish to overload everyone, so if anyone would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact me on 0409 635 762, or via e-mail.

We look forward to meeting you all in due course.

Regards

David and Shane
