Team Manager Job Description

All parents are expected to contribute during the season to the smooth running of a team and the managers job is to

1. Create a roster of who does what on which dates

2. Communicate this out at the start of the season

3. Send a summary email each week reminding people whose job is what.

Parents are to negotiate with each other and swap roles outside of the managers roster once set.  I.E.  It is not for the manager to keep moving things around to accommodate everyone.

Managers are recommended to ask for dates when players are likely to be unavailable due to holidays or other events so they can best set up the roster.

ROLES FOR PARENTS

1. Scoring

Scoring via the APP or the book. (Primary Scorer and a Handover Scorer who helps them for 30 mins if new)

2. Player Preparation - Batting and Fielding

This means ensuring the batters know their batting order and that two batters are padded up when two are out in the middle.  Getting other players to do some throw downs to the incoming batsmen

3. Ground Setup

Setting up cones around boundary and stumps in the middle

4. Gazebo Setup

Person who is allocated to ask 3 others to help setup.  They can be broken, twisted out of shape, if only one person setting up. ONe person on each leg is perfect.

5. Fruit/ Snacks

Oranges

TEAM COMMUNICATIONS

Best to get both parents emails, especially in split families

Whats APP

Easiest to setup

- Whats app is good but should only be used for last minute communications for organising and positive comments.  As the administrator of what's app group. Keep your communications business like and friendly to set the tone.

I have had one issue of parent bringing up an issue they thought was unfair for their child on what's app and it is not good for parent relationships or player relationships so no negative on whats app.  If something like this starts to happen, delist the outspoken persons quickly and communicate privately about any issues.  It is generally never a problem but saying this just in case.

Email

You can use your email groups or CC get a previous group email and then send it again to that.

A Team App

There are team apps out there but it requires users to download and register so a little more friction to overcome but can be very good.
